ROAD TRAFFIC EDUCATION GAME. a.k.a ROAD USER FRIENDLY GAME – RUF Game
Using the road is not a child’s play. Knowledge is key to the safe use of the road and our survival.
The road traffic education game has been purposefully designed and developed to teach all categories of road users how to safely use the road so as to avoid the negative consequences of wrong usage.
The game teaches road traffic regulations, prohibitions, all categories of road signs, markings, and all other rules and practices that make for safe and secure use of the road.

INTRODUCTION
Drivers are amongst the most critical manpower required to move people, goods and services as over 90% of land carriage is done by road. The need to continuously train drivers cannot be overstated if safety and security of the vehicles, passengers, goods and investments are to be guaranteed.
The training covers Road Traffic Regulation, Road Safety, Technical and Soft Skills.
The programmes are designed to equip drivers with the right knowledge and skills to perform their functions efficiently.
REGULATORY SKILLS
Regulatory skill as designed equips the driver in all aspects of traffic rules, regulations including their meanings, interpretations and implications.
SAFETY SKILLS
Safety skills as designed equips drivers with the right knowledge of the road and the skills required for safe practices as they interact with other road users.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Technical skills as designed exposes drivers to basic automobile knowledge sufficient to have a skillful understanding of the working components of the vehicle and what to do to keep it up and running.
SOFT SKILLS
Drivers’ Soft skills training as designed kits the driver to discover himself, imbibe relational behaviour, including emotional stability and a sense of belonging that enable the driver to fit in properly to the work environment as he interact with staffers, customers, etc..

The essence of traffic laws and regulation is to regulate, guide and control the conduct of road users so as to ensure reasonable, efficient, orderly and safe interactions on the roadways.

THEME 3: TECHNICAL SKILLS FOR DRIVERS
Technical Skills refer to the capacity a driver has to understand motor vehicle brand, operating parts, vehicle behaviour, symptoms, service schedules, fuel management, faults reporting methods and handling of minor faults, including failing parts that can cause accident and factors that underlie man-machine relationship.
Rationale for the Training
The causes of vehicles’ malfunctioning and breakdowns are well known: knowledge and skills deficit and poor maintenance culture. These anomalies would be corrected with this training.
